Thomas Sowell’s description of liberal ideology in his book A Conflict of Visions, as summarized by Bob Hines:

These notions are the equality of result (versus opportunity), the superiority of the common good (versus individual autonomy), the circumstantial application of laws (versus consistent application), the transfer of benefits to the less fortunate as a matter of justice (versus humanity) and the concern with result (versus process).
